Biography
Simbad Segui Born and raised in Paris, where his father the contemporaneous plastic artist Antonio Segui , originally from Cordoba , transposed his universe of paintings in the 60’s.
It was on the streets of the City Lights that Simbad’s reggae-dub roots have been nourished with hip hop through years of graffiti raids.
Around 1996, after having listened to countless artists’ concerts and live acts, at the age of 17 he compiled his vinyl, his influences of urban art and decided to try his luck.
He moved to Argentina, to his father’s city and started his dj activities in clubs and cultural events.
The inspiring artistic environment of Simbad’s lifestyle oriented him towards the co-organization of interdisciplinary events and teamed up with visual artists, writers and musicians.
As member of Dialogo Beat collective, he promoted the electronic music as a way of social expression creating interactions with the people. The public could create ambiances with musical and art supports such as multichannel audio consoles, visuals and lightening at their disposal.
Nowadays Simbad is the most established and unavoidable figure of inner Argentina thanks to his versatile and eclectic way of mixing, leading role on national and international events, but particularly for his high contribution to the expansion of the electronic music within the country.
In fact Simbad supported representative’s pioneer figures such as Carlos Alfonsin, Cristobal Paz and Franco Cinelli to name but a few.
Among his most highlighted performances, we can list Sonar Sound, Micro Mutek, Resident Advisor Party, Soup and Creamfields in Buenos Aires, Buenas Noches Trimarchi in Mar del Plata, Minimal Dancing at Nouveau Casino in Paris, Piknic Electronik in Montreal and different venues in Brazil, Uruguay, Mexico among other South American regions.

Sammy Dee, Matthew Dear, Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin, Radio Slave, Efdemin and more.
