TOLIS Q

Tolis Q was born in Germany the 10th December 1974. Lived there for the first 10 years of his life and then he returned to Greece where his origin is. Got in touch with music in the end of the 80’s and for years he was exploring many kinds of different styles before the psychedelics of the 60’s hooked him. Pink Floyd, Gong and Sweet Smoke, introducing him into the psychedelic music. In parallel with psy-rock he started to get attracted by the break beat, acid house and early trance parties in Athens. These two scenes got together around 93-94 and created the golden edge of the 90’s. Psychedelic Trance. That was it! He became attracted by the UV-psy madness of the 90's and was spinning successful psy-trance sets for 4 years. Among many parties and artists he played with as a trance dj most notable are his gigs in Israel, Croatia and Samothraki Dance Festival '02 & '03. SDF was not only his biggest gig for him (8000ppl) but he had the chance to work successfully as the Stage Manager. Musical evolution pushed Tolis Q to different styles, first hooked up to the UK progressive house scene and keeping his love for trance he he now combines and plays a unique pumping progressive based style combined with the latest trance tunes, electro/tech vibes and house beats, all blended with lots of groove! His Dj experience helped him quick to become an established house dj around Greece and he starts quickly to appear in almost all clubs in Athens. With his partner Cj Jeff they start they own nights trying to bring a new breeze in Athens Clubland. "Under The Water Team" was born and successfully created the most legendary underground mobile club night in Athens the last 5 years. Kalua, Wild Rose, Playback by Pierro’s, Umatic, Cavo Paradiso and Luv are some of the clubs that put up these events. Besides Athens the popularity traveled around Greece and soon The Under Water Team parties took held in Mykonos, Crete, Ikaria, Corfu, Korinthos and Germany (@ Club Uno, Jena)!!! Tolis Q in the pasts years kept residencies at Plusmatic Club, +Soda and Raj Club and appeared along side to established artists of the dance scene like Dave Sheaman, Luke Chable, Circulation, Mikele, L-Segka, D-Nox, Miss Yeti, Beroshima, Anthony Papa, Quiver, Petros Floorfiller, Nikola Gala, Nic Fanciulli, Marc Schneider and Phil Kieran among others. Besides his regular appearances in Athenian clubs he appears in most of the Greek cities in all sorts of clubs and beach bars & festivals. End of 2004 Tolis Q appears at Electorwave festival along side to greek electro-pop superstars Mikro and the half-Greek chill-out master Gabriel Le Mar! 2005 started with a new collaboration. He joins Kidnapbookings.com agency to represent him next to Leon Segka, Silversurfer, Savva Paschalidis, Cj Jeff, Scorpio & Kyro. This team up throws Tolis Q in the first official Love Parade that took held in Athens (April 2005) with Dr. Motte, Miss Yeti, Beroshima, Woody Fumakila a.o. Hot summer 2005 will find him visiting Croatia again for the Underwater Overground festival 2005 and appearing at the European Electronic Digital Arts festival next to Kraftwerk, Eat Static & Michael Delta. Next step for him was the creation of his own personal record label. A common vision for him and his friend Alex Radical pushed them to created “Quantized Music”. Their goal is to release high quality modern dance music in various forward thinking styles. He cannot leave him self out of this so 2006 finds Tolis Q working constalty in the studio with he’s partner Ad.Mark. First release is the track “Disted Life” for the Greek based label “NRG”, short after their remix for “Kiwi Rider” originally written by “Kruger & Coyle” throu Swedish label “ACDC”. Another remix for French electro housers “Motion” will be released short after summer from Candyflip records. In 2007 he decides to go a step further in the music business. He starts “Quantized Music”, he’s own record label! The first vinyl is ready to hit the streets and the second is scheduled for sometime during summer.
